Canadian Fintech huumans Announces Exclusive Partnership With Total Mom Inc
February 13, 2022 - Halifax, CANADA — huumans, the Canadian bookkeeping-as-a-service platform, today announced a new partnership with Total Mom Inc., the fastest-growing mom-focused entrepreneur community in Canada. Total Mom Inc. has a community of over 20,000 small business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs, and its mission is to support women through their personal and professional struggles of running a business while being a parent. This is huumans’ first national partnership.
“If the pandemic taught us anything about SMBs in Canada it was that entrepreneurs, who are also parents, felt that they needed to choose between being a good parent and being a small business owner. We also know from newly-released data that this was especially true for mothers,” said Paula Festas, Chief Executive Officer at huumans. “For our first partnership, we wanted to help break down the barriers to entrepreneurship, particularly for those who face more barriers than others.”
According to the Women Entrepreneur Knowledge Hub’s report The State of Women’s Entrepreneurship In Canada, women made up only 16.8% of majority business owners in 2020. While this number has increased slightly since 2017 (from 15.6%), it’s clear that there is a barrier to entry for women who want to pursue small business ownership. Together, Total Mom Inc. and huumans will provide support and guidance for moms hoping to make the jump into entrepreneurship through resources, mentorship opportunities, and courses by leading experts.

The partnership, which will kick off in 2023, will include participation in Total Mom Inc,’s Accelerator program, The Mom Collective, media and advocacy opportunities, as well as recognition as the Dedicated Category Partner at the 5th Annual Total Mom Pitch.
