Canadian Fintech huumans Names CRO Paula Festas as Chief Executive Officer

February 2, 2023 – HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – Today, Canadian fintech huumans announced that its Chief Revenue Officer, Paula Festas, has been named Chief Executive Officer effective February 2, 2023. Bill Murphy, huumans’ current CEO and co-founder, will continue to be involved in huumans’ day-to-day operations as the company’s President.


Originally brought on to lead huumans’ revenue and partnership growth strategy, Festas has been a key player in new feature launches, partnerships, as well as expanding the revenue team. “From day one, Paula has exhibited the same tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit that I see in the small business owners that we serve. While I always knew Paula would move into the CEO role eventually, my confidence in her leadership tells me this is the right time to pass the torch,” said Bill Murphy, current CEO and co-founder of huumans. “We have a number of major announcements coming up, and I fully
trust Paula to lead the company to our next stage of growth and beyond.”


Previously CRO at Alibi Technologies and Postmedia, as well as holding executive roles at Yahoo and CBC, Festas brings 25 years of experience building strong revenue-focused brands. Currently board director at Good Deeds, Paula was previously chair of the board at Responsible Gambling Council Check, and has previously held board seats for IAB Canada, the Broadcast Executive Society, and the National Advertising Benevolent Society.
